Lights,camera,action

Scene: A perfectly beautiful evening.

Having just stuffed himself with some delicious(?) food PC man found himself slipping slowly into a blissful fit of slumber. Soon he was scaling mountains, swinging his dagger dangerously as the dark and handsome Prince of Persia battling demons in the distant land. Just when he was about to rescue that princess as she battled her lovely eyelashes at him with a beckoning call, he felt an earthquake coming along. He resisted trying to keep his hands on the dagger but it continued to shake him. Soon enough he sensed something being yanked off and cold breeze hitting him . As he watched he noticed the princess scowl at him and utter angrily words like "Wake up,didn't you promise to take us today?Get off the bed before I drench you with this cold water" ,her amarous gaze suddenly looked so furious. He was so befuddled and quickly opened his eyes and took in his lovely wife standing over him holding a sippy cup of water in a menacing way and pointing her finger towards the clock.

PC man- *with a loud groan* Is it 5 already?Do we really have to go?

Fuzzy- *yanking out the blanket*Not if you want to be reminded of this for the rest of the year. I trust you will make a wise decision. "A" has already called and said that he will meet us at the entrance. So we better hurry up

Soon enough we met A & V and the gang in front of the entrance.

PC man- *looking pretty smug* You guys ought to thank me. I got you all the tickets for 18$ using some of my influences and contacts. Otherwise we would have had to pay 25$ each!

Fuzzy- *feigning a mock cough and nudging PC man slightly* I think you ought to look at this board dear.

PC man-*beholding the sign which said- Enjoy the last day of the Chinese Lantern festival only for 15$ per ticket* WTF?can't believe these chinese guys cheated me.

Fuzzy- It's allright, let's just go and enjoy the evening. And *catching PC man's eyes* no,I can't stand blocking the board till your friends get in. Don't even think about asking.

So off they went to see the festival which costed a bit more than it should have. It was however spectacular. It's said it took 60 Master Craftsman 45 days to build the lovely sets, which were displayed on land and water. They were specially flown all the way from China to create these masterpieces and boy oh boy did they do a fabulous job. The one that left us in total awe was the wonderful Terra-cotta warriors and a fire breathing dragon made entirely of cups and saucers!

It was almost surreal walking through the chinese mythological characters side by side the 2008 Olympics mascot "Fu-wa". We also sat through a traditional tea ceremony conducted by the lake with lessons on how to brew a perfect chinese tea. Needless to say lot of green tea might be making it's way into our home in days to come!!

Then as always since we were travelling with a bunch of we-live-to-eat kind of men folks we halted as soon as we spotted a food court hoping to taste some traditional stuff. A friendly looking traditionally dressed chinese lady waved me over and in halting chinese accent convinced us she would make me taste the original traditional chinese bubble tea and some great chinese food. Having already blown over by the tea ceremony we blindly allowed her to serve us only to see that we got served the commercial manchu-wok meal with a world's horriblest tasting bubble tea ever. We were fleeced out of our money just for a meal we might as well have had in any shopping mall. But the moon cakes helped us calm down a bit. They were F-A-N tastic!!

Now high on the spring rolls and noodles and some bad chicken the group made it's way to the rest of the displays. The night was getting chillier when Ina and the rest of the toddler folk started dropping hints that they would now prefer to call it a night. As we passed through the last display showcasing some chinese men engaged in hand to hand combat the men folk were inspired. Full stomach sometimes does wonders to their brains. Afterall they were no less than the olden day warriors were they?hence one guy took over the camera while the others took turns in posing in front of the warrior effigies as a la modern day macho soldiers in combat.

Their actions were carefully being observed by 2 little boys accompanied by their parents. Then they spoke loudly enough for all of us to hear:

Little boy 1: Wow,look at them, they are fighting!!

Little boy 2: *observing keenly with knotted eyebrows* No,they are not.

Little boy 1: Why?can't you see what they are doing?

Little boy 2: *satisfied with his deep analysis and stating* Nopes, they are just a couple of homosexuals!

The modern day warriors looked pretty scandalized! Kids do say the darndest things.

Yep, the evening just turned out spectacular as I said:)

Oh Wow!! What a wonderful way to spend the evening. Chinese really know how to display their culture. We Indians sometimes lack in this respect. Recently, went to a Heritage festival and the Chinese area was beautifully decorated and don't even talk about the Indian stall, selling samosas was their idea of Indian heritage :P

Anyways, point is that your post ended with the most unexpected ending :P
