It's tag time again. This time around Parul tagged me to reveal the engaging err engagement story. Without further ado and having arm twisted PC man to give his proverbial all encompassing shrug of a shoulder and final sigh of resignation ,get ready to spread this mushy can of beans onto your toasted tortillas.
It's pretty much a simple tale of how the nice sweet girl made the nice ,smart mallu guy bhel (sell) some excellent papads (or perhaps papadums) and made him skip through some hula hoops before saying an yes.
over by her masterful culinary skills during the first meeting needless to say the girl never actually expected to hear from the guy again. But then you see some guys are clearly gluttons for punishments and PC man happened to be one of them or perhaps it should be said he was clearly smitten by the irresistible charms of fuzzy (dismissing the buzz of PC man singing "You're so vain" off tune near the ear) Soon after that he managed to
night that it became a part of their lives. And soon enough the public transportation officials were singing praises of PC man for his generous encouragement and moolah they got due to his weekly trips from Pune to the girl's hometown. Soon the girl's dad raised his eyebrows on the soaring net bills while PC man contemplated his new found employed-but-constantly-broke status. That was also the time when he uttered those" three words " during a chat following the declaration by the girl as to how she had stuffed herself up to her nose attending a wedding feast. She still feels those gluttony confessions perhaps made her even more irresistible. Who can resist a chick who can confess freely how she is a such a fine connoisseur of food, none I tellya. Gluttony girlfriends are the in thing and mucho in demand.
of the beautiful flowers proposed marriage. Then a sentimental bollywood tune played in the background while the girl dabbing her eyes with tears and sniffing into her expensive handkerchief and hands to her mouth in shock and uttering "Yes,oh yes"
Fuzzy- I told you she was no face reader or an astrologer. You didn't have any 10's or 20's?Who gives a lame old lady con 50 rs??

Have you seen this woman?
She was last seen blogging around this blog and has not been heard of for some days now. All we found is this picture and we have some reasons to believe that this very likely could have been her.
The features which helped us pin her down:
1.Most of the days she wakes up late having forgotten to set the alarm the previous night and is seen muttering to herself that she is running late while she carries the kid to drop off at the sitters. Then remembers she hasn't turned off that iron box and frantically calls her hubby to see if the house is already on fire.
2. Burns atleast one breakfast ,an occasional lunch and dinner almost every week due to her brilliant multitasking abilities . Sometimes she is seen shaking her fist at the smoke alarm blaring on some burnt toast or potatoes when it happens before chaos ensues.
3. Swears at the evil scale and calls upon it's death saying it's gone over to the dark side and it better not conspire in this weighty coupe being staged against her.
4. Grooms herself in record time and knowingly ignores that small suspicious unidentified stain on the sweater.
ce party and her turn to put the toddler through bath and bed and then loses balance tripping over the lego pieces and lands on her nose.

It was a sad sad day when Mr. Chimp took ill. He just had retired to bed after a heavy meal consisting some cheetos, cheerios and potato chips ,washed it down with some milk (which he hated as it always ended up leaving his brown fuzzy fur all wet) when the cold bug struck. His shiny coat looked unhealthy than ever with years of being used by a little one as a wiping mop and being dragged all around the house. It was a long time he had been offered the laundry spa services and even though he
hated being jostled around in that big white box and getting water up his snort, it left him always with a fresh smelling healthy looking fur and feeling great. But being the sweet self he was, he never complained, afterall he was still much better off than Mr.Giraffe who got thrown out of the window and fell into a muddy pool of water getting all his yellow coat turned brown by the little one in a fit of anger. Poor guy couldn't play the songs he was tuned to play due to depression that having mud in your insides brings. The sloppy kisses however by the little one did help a bit,you see the little one other than those transient fit of tantrums is quite a kind kid. But the Giraffe still nursed some raw wounds.
Mr.Chimp was still the most favorite. He has been around long before the little one arrived . He came all the way from China (it said so on the tag he has at his tush even though he always contemplated why he never looked quite asian and hated noodles) and was elated when the little one picked him as a confidant from the pack. He didn't mind being drooled over like there was no tomorrow or having his nose and ears gnawed at all the time, being poked and dragged around like a rag doll, being touched and hugged with sticky fingers and sticky noses all the time. So when Mr. Chimp took ill he was a sight to behold and with the runny nose and sore throat he felt more stuffed than
round to her room saying goodnight to all her toys so as to put a smile back on their faces. She then rushed off calling after her lazy mama to get her to bed with her bedtime story. Teddy announced how they would all take turns to entertain the kid till she and Mr.Chimp get nursed back to health from this nasty cold. The Giraffe made up it's mind it would do everything under the sun to usurp Mr.Chimp soon. Afterall it's a toy eat toy world right. Not my nose though she declared, never sacrificing nose for that kid to chew again even though she scores high on the cute factor. Unaware of all the conspiracy Mr.Chimp slept on..Tomorrow would certainly be a new day!

Scene: A perfectly beautiful evening.
Having just stuffed himself with some delicious(?) food PC man found himself slipping slowly into a blissful fit of slumber. Soon he was scaling mountains, swinging his dagger dangerously as the dark and handsome Prince of Persia battling demons in the distant land. Just when he was about to rescue that princess as she battled her lovely eyelashes at him with a beckoning call, he felt an earthquake coming along. He resisted trying to keep his hands on the dagger but it continued to shake him. Soon enough he sensed something being yanked off and cold breeze hitting him . As he watched he noticed the princess scowl at him and utter angrily words like "Wake up,didn't you promise to take us today?Get off the bed before I drench you with this cold water" ,her amarous gaze suddenly looked so furious. He was so befuddled and quickly opened his eyes and took in his lovely wife standing over him holding a sippy cup of water in a menacing way and pointing her finger towards the clock.
PC man- *with a loud groan* Is it 5 already?Do we really have to go?
Fuzzy- *yanking out the blanket*Not if you want to be reminded of this for the rest of the year. I trust you will make a wise decision. "A" has already called and said that he will meet us at the entrance. So we better hurry up
Soon enough we met A & V and the gang in front of the entrance.
PC man- *looking pretty smug* You guys ought to thank me. I got you all the tickets for 18$ using some of my influences and contacts. Otherwise we would have had to pay 25$ each!
Fuzzy- *feigning a mock cough and nudging PC man slightly* I think you ought to look at this board dear.
PC man-*beholding the sign which said- Enjoy the last day of the Chinese Lantern festival only for 15$ per ticket* WTF?can't believe these chinese guys cheated me.
Fuzzy- It's allright, let's just go and enjoy the evening. And *catching PC man's eyes* no,I can't stand blocking the board till your friends get in. Don't even think about asking.
So off they went to see the festival which costed a bit more than it should have. It was however spectacular. It's said it took 60 Master Craftsman 45 days to build the lovely sets, which were displayed on land and water. They were specially flown all the way from China to create these masterpieces and boy oh boy did they do a fabulous job. The one that left us in total awe was the wonderful Terra-cotta warriors and a fire breathing dragon made entirely of cups and saucers!
It was almost surreal walking through the chinese mythological characters side by side the 2008 Olympics mascot "Fu-wa". We also sat through a traditional tea ceremony conducted by the lake with lessons on how to brew a perfect chinese tea. Needless to say lot of green tea might be making it's way into our home in days to come!!
Then as always since we were travelling with a bunch of we-live-to-eat kind of men folks we halted as soon as we spotted a food court hoping to taste some traditional stuff. A friendly looking traditionally dressed chinese lady waved me over and in halting chinese accent convinced us she would make me taste the original traditional chinese bubble tea and some great chinese food. Having already blown over by the tea ceremony we blindly allowed her to serve us only to see that we got served the commercial manchu-wok meal with a world's horriblest tasting bubble tea ever. We were fleeced out of our money just for a meal we might as well have had in any shopping mall. But the moon cakes helped us calm down a bit. They were F-A-N tastic!!
Now high on the spring rolls and noodles and some bad chicken the group made it's way to the rest of the displays. The night was getting chillier when Ina and the rest of the toddler folk started dropping hints that they would now prefer to call it a night. As we passed through the last display showcasing some chinese men engaged in hand to hand combat the men folk were inspired. Full stomach sometimes does wonders to their brains. Afterall they were no less than the olden day warriors were they?hence one guy took over the camera while the others took turns in posing in front of the warrior effigies as a la modern day macho soldiers in combat.
Their actions were carefully being observed by 2 little boys accompanied by their parents. Then they spoke loudly enough for all of us to hear:
Little boy 1: Wow,look at them, they are fighting!!
Little boy 2: *observing keenly with knotted eyebrows* No,they are not.
Little boy 1: Why?can't you see what they are doing?
Little boy 2: *satisfied with his deep analysis and stating* Nopes, they are just a couple of homosexuals!
The modern day warriors looked pretty scandalized! Kids do say the darndest things.
Yep, the evening just turned out spectacular as I said:)

Even though all that I would love to do this weekend is to remain in a permanent state of inertia and play pretend dead on a nice warm bed sadly though people won't allow me. I do have
1) To scare the daylights out of a dear friend by throwing a scary surprise party on her 30th birthday tomorrow.*V,sorry couldn't resist that one (evil smile)*
2) To get some moms and dads around to make them do what they love to do,to brag about their kids, throw in scary advices to some brand new parents to be and then embarass them into participating in the silly games and use it to blackmail them later I have up my sleeve at another friend's baby shower the very next day
3)Drag PC man and his lazy ass to finally take us to that show at the lakeshore.
4) Pray and pray that the little one's nose which is playing "turn on and off the faucet" tune presently doesn't get worse and drown the other shopping plan with it.
5) Snooze till 9,have nice pancakes with maple syrup and a steaming coffee breakfast in bed, read my newspaper from page to page,no thoughts of laundry, cleaning or vaccuming,no wiping running noses,to just stretch myself in front of the tv,relax and catch up on a favorite movie and a cocktail *SNAP,SNAP* Out of reverie because that's not going to be possible *heaves a sigh*
But it felt so good just to think of it!
I will leave you to enjoy the weekend with this fun video.Have a great one!

Every once in a while we get seized with an inspiration to take that "feel good" road trip. And that's exactly what happened during this long weekend. While everyone around us were perhaps planning to stuff themselves with turkey we decided to be gluttons for punishment and get on the road with a bawling little creature in tow.
Trips also mean a lot of packing. Given my obsessive nature I take a lot of pains in making them perfect. I always plan ahead and pack to face any eventual emergency (the car can break down,we might drive our way into neverland even get kidnapped by aliens and the likes, very valid, legitimate fears) and it drives people nuts. And as I did it took me a trip down memory lane.
Flash back to the year 2005 when packing for a trip was a piece of cake. My list then consisted of
