Winter rants
Oh the weather outside is frightful
And going for a drive is painful
Don't want to get stuck where I go
why does it snow, why does it snow, why does it snow
It doesn't show signs of stopping
Weather man says temperatures are dropping
Hubby's sad that he'll have some snow to plow
why does it snow, why does it snow, why does it snow
Cancelled a party which was in great form
Couldn't imagine going out in the storm!
My kid's been teething and it's hard to keep calm
But atleast inside it's warm
why does it snow, why does it snow, why does it snow
Tomorrow I have a chore
I'll hate going out to the store;
It's a pain dressing up the kid anymore
By the time it's done does she snore
why does it snow, why does it snow, why does it snow
Oh, the blizzard outside is spiteful
Snowflakes aren't so delightful,
I'm trapped with no place to go,
why does it snow, why does it snow, why does it snow
I don't really mind the snow as such
It's just a pain when it's too much
All we can do is sneeze and grouch
there's really nothing to do from the couch
Why does it snow, why does it snow, why does it snow

Soooo ... you don't like the snow then?
I have a like-hate relationship with snow, especially after-Christmas snow. I had walking in it. I hate driving in it. I hate the feel of it. But I like sledding and cross country skiing and if it were gone I'd miss it.
Stupid snow.
Snow is pretty - for the first fifteen minutes.:) Thanks for the trip down memory lane (I'm a Michigan Native).
Loved your post. I love snow, we live up in CT before and it does not snow much in DE to begin with. My favorite past of the snow?
Going out jogging, nothing like the cold crisp air to refresh me and the sound of snow crunching beneath my feet.
Lucky you, living in a climate where there is still winter.
We have less than one inch of snow on the ground. And although it's colder now than it has been, we haven't been below zero, fahrenheit, more than a couple of times and that was at night. At least there is ice on the Big Lake.
I have to travel 40 miles East to get into snow. The snowshoes I make just hang around the garage. No buyers to sell to as no-one needs them this year yet again.
Oh well, One more week of January, then soon it will be mosquitoe and black fly season, or, as we call it here, poor sledding.
Peace.
laughity laugh laugh
fuzzy,
just so y'know..I was here earlier and blogger did not cooperate..hence did not comment.
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....I used to love that song but really I hate snow so maybe I'll make this a fav song :) Oh and tell me about layering your child in clothes!!! and I live in Texas and get 2-3 days of snow every yr!
Lived in Chicago for many years , had this love hate relationship with the snow. But all in all I love the snow.Just not when driving.I do hope it stops snowing for you. Lots of sunshine this side of town.
I am really trying my best not to say anything bad here - I HATE WINTER and I so want it to leave - but your little tuner here warms my heart so!
Very funny! The question, however, is not why does it snow.
The question is -- why do morons like us live in places where it snows? After all, we don't live in Antarctica for obvious reasons (because it snows all of the time). When are we going to figure out that there are some places on earth where it doesn't snow at all?
Dorky dad-I too share a love-hate relationship with snow, this was a hate day!:)I hate driving in winter,I agree ice skating and skiing those are few things that make winter worth the pain!
TFWS-It does look pretty in the beginning but later the whiteness kind of gets suffocating.I know being a Michigan native you would understand! But hey snowboarding, sking and the ice rinks perhaps do cheer me up:)Today was perhaps a blue day! Thanks for coming by
Sanjay-To experience real winter come up north here!then I'm sure you will learn how we can hate the snow:)
Spadoman-Winter here came late,I guess I should be happy it delayed its arrival a bit due to the global warming.Another one month and yes then it'll be back to spring;)So maybe I should enjoy it before it bids goodbye but yesterday it just got me!Pass me those snowshoes,I can make good use of them here:)
Evangeline-Thanks for coming by,Is the winter ever bitten where you live?
Orchid-2-3 days of snow in a year?you are lucky indeed.I wouldn't have minded a few days of snow,it's just when it continues for months together it loses its charm!I agree dressing the kid is the hardest part, all those layering and she hates it and most of the times both of us are exhausted just by the time we dress forget about an outing:)
Don't worry about those problems with the blogger,I know it can be a pain at times. You are welcome here anytime and as many times you wish:)there's no toll gate:)
Starrynights-Kindly pass some of that sunshine on to your northern neighbor,we can use it,past two days have been pretty gloomy.Perhaps that's the reason I discovered the hate side of my snow relationship:)
Baron-I knew you would understand, see that horrid winter inspired even a poet in me:)Howz it treating you back in Kansas? It's always a pleasure to have you here :)
Dan-Hmm..an interesting question?Maybe we morons live here so we can balance the population and to equalize earth's mass distribution. If all of us moved to the warmest parts of the planets we would never have known the joys of skiing,or snowboarding, ice skating, sledging. Also sweating 24/7 also wouldn't be a good idea, trust me I've been there too.
Well,to get some you lose some, life's always a bargain. This is definetly my love to the snow side speaking,oh I can feel the hate side take over again,Dang aren't you right?damn snow!I'm moving back to India:)
Why does it snow? It snows because dorks like me complain non-stop that its jan already and no snow - so the guy upstairs sends us HUGE quantities to shut me up!
Seriously I am already fed up with the cold and snow. And dont get me started on dressing kids up to take them out
Hmmm... I love the snow for a couple days. Living in the southern US it is a rare treat & is much better than the more common, freezing rain.
Oh, nooooooo! Now I feel bad for moaning and groaning because we had to pull out our hoodies this week!
STS-So you are the culprit!Lol,I know having stayed in Montreal you would know how hard it can be at times in winter.I try to keep the positive I love snow attitude but sometimes it can bug you!Dressing up the kids oh firstly its like trying to dress up some wriggly worm and once you get it done then out comes the hats and gloves in second or out comes the poop so you get around to do it all over again!!
SLB-I know occasionally I think I also would appreciate snow, but as you say driving on ice would be far worse than driving in snow!
Singleton-You Florida girl!I envy you:)
